Defence diary : MIT ties up with Manchester varsity

The Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) will join hands with the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU),UK. Prof. John Brooks,Vice Chancellor MMU and Errim Mahmoud,Director International,MMU,UK were in the city to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Sunil Karad,Executive Director,MIT Group of Institutions. Brooks said he was impressed with opportunities in India. “The more we share our knowledge,the better will be the harmony.” He also assured that they have the best system to protect the Indian students. With this tie-up,students of the two year M.Sc Engineering programme will spend one year at MMU,UK as a part of the curriculum. This would enable the students to study under experienced faculties from the University in UK.

Symbhav 2012 concludes

Pune: During its recently concluded cultural fest,‘Symbhav – 2012’,the Symbiosis Law School,Pune hosted a variety of competitions with prize money ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 in different events such as group dance,solo dance,rock,western solo,Hindi solo,mad ads,spot acting,dumb charades,classical singing,photography,face painting and brain teasers such as business challenge,mock parliament,negotiation and client counselling,quiz,debate and extempore moot. Bands like Agnee,Avial and Advaita were invited to the fest.

10 city teams selected for formula car design

About 10 out of the 65 teams selected for the SUPRA SAE INDIA Formula car design contest are from the city. The teams will need to conceive,design,fabricate,test,validate and run Formula type cars during the final contest which will be held in Chennai after 6 months. The colleges to have been selected from the city include AISSMS College of Engineering,College of Engineering,Pune,Maharashtra Institute of Technology,Sinhgad Acadamy of Engineering,Vishwakarma Institute of Technology,Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering,G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering and ARAI Academy.
