BCom admissions: 9,000 students register for 4,000 seats in five days

With more than 9,000 students registering for 4,000 BCom seats in the first five days,since the admission process of Panjab University began,BCom continues to be one of the most sort after courses in the region.

With more than 9,000 students registering for 4,000 BCom seats in the first five days,since the admission process of Panjab University (PU) began,BCom continues to be one of the most sort after courses in the region. Last year,over 11,000 applications were received for the seats,while this year,the number of applications is likely to be higher,said an official from PU’s Computer Centre.

Admission to BCom in PU-affiliated colleges located in Chandigarh,including Department of Evening Studies,Panjab University,and colleges located in Ludhiana,including Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College of Commerce & Management is being conducted through a centralised system.

Students can download the forms by visiting the website – http://bcomadmissions.puchd.ac.in. Detailed information regarding application forms,number of seats in different colleges,eligibility criteria and reservation policies are also available on the website.

The forms can be downloaded till June 28,3 pm and the last date to submit them is June 30. Forms can also be submitted by hand at University Business School,PU,Chandigarh; and PU Regional Centre,Civil Lines,Ludhiana,by June 30.

Students have to fill the online application form with at least six options of colleges in order of their preference. They have to,then,submit the form,along with copies of matriculation certificate,10+2 certificate,category certificate in addition to a demand draft of Rs 150 (general category) or Rs 75 (SC/ST) to Professor Suresh K Chadha,coordinator,BCom online admissions.

Chadha said,“A large number of students have been applying for the course and we have suggested the students to fill the preferences of colleges after considering the last year’s cut-offs,so that best suitable seats are allocated to all the students according to merit.”

The first merit list will be displayed on July 4.
