Contending that large volumes of liquid cash are a big source of corruption and black money, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday appealed to the people to “lead the change” towards cashless transactions to lay the strong foundations of an India where there is no place for such malaise. “In 21st century India, there is no place for corruption. Corruption slows down growth and takes a toll on the dreams of the poor, neo-middle class and middle class,” he wrote in an article posted on Linkedin.com.

“Large volumes of liquid cash are a big source of corruption and black money,” he said while referring to his “historic” decision on November 8 to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes with an aim of ending corruption and black money. Asserting that in 21st century India, there is no place for corruption, Modi said, “Corruption slows down growth and takes a toll on the dreams of the poor, neo-middle class and middle class.”

In this context, he referred to his pitch for cashless transactions. “I urge all of you, particularly my young friends to lead the change and inspire others to turn towards cashless transactions. This will set the strong foundations of an India where there is no place for corruption and black money,” the Prime Minister said.

“Today we live in an era of mobile banking and mobile wallets. Ordering food, buying and selling furniture, ordering a taxi…all of this and lot more is possible through your mobiles. Technology has brought speed and convenience in our lives,” he added.

Along with the article, he posted pictorial references to cashless options like credit cards. “I am sure most of you are using cards and e-wallets regularly but I thought I must share with you ways through which increased cashless transactions are possible,” he said. Modi said the November 8 decision offered “a unique opportunity” for small traders, who have a central role in the economic transformation of India.

“Today, our trading community has a historic chance to upgrade themselves and embrace more technology, which will bring greater prosperity,” he said. He said when he made the announcement, he was aware that the people of India “will face inconvenience but I had requested the people of India to bear this short term pain for long term gain. I am happy to see that the people of India are bearing temporary difficulties for the long term gain of the nation.”

The Prime Minister said over the last few days, he had opportunities to travel to rural as well as urban areas in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Punjab. “Wherever I went, I asked the people – should corruption and black money be eliminated? Should the poor, neo-middle and middle class get their due? The answer I got everywhere was a resounding yes!”

Mr.fekoo is most corrupt of leaders. He sold india to adanis and Ambanis gujrati Mafia. What difference is it going to be when black money can easily be changed in to pink? People are going through he'll for this tughlak of gujrat. He would be judged as fraud but it wI'll be too late for suffering millions.

Is it so called black money which generates corruption or corruption which generates black money? Feku seems to have got it all wrong. If he was really serious about putting an end to corruption, he ought to have struck first at corruption rather than resorted to demonetization. Why doesn't he push for a law which makes it obligatory for all political parties to declare their source of funds? Why has he not yet initiated any action against BJP politicians found to be corrupt? Why has he not pursued the leads from the Panama Papers? And, why does he come forward to clear his name from the supposed receiver of monies from Aditya Birla Group and Sahara Group? And, come clean on the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation in which Rs 20,000 crores were invested without any gas find? The people have begun to see through his histrionics. The real objectives of demonetization are still suspect.

No corruption or free from corruption in 21st century is a myth... yesterday about 5 crores rupees in new notes plus gold was seized in Bengaluru from civic contractor. Even 21 days after common man is struggling to get new currency notes... Several GOVT. Officials are caught red handed taking bribes post demonetisation so the question of corruption free India is ?. Demonetisation is not the answer for corrupt free nation. Those corrupt will devise new ways to keep their ill-gotten wealth, bullion and real estate are the other ways. Taxation laws needs reform. Lower Taxation limits will bring parity. HOPING WITH FOLDED HANDS TO SEE CORRUPTION FREE NATION.......

It is actually support to corruption under the blanket of removal of corruption, resulting disastrous situation for the country especially for daily wage earners. Long ques in bank counter, Blank ATMs, restriction of withdrawal of our own money, and facilities and facilities for corrupted people. What a Hippocratic Govtt.

My friend,an IPS(an underground IB officer) posted in eastern India tells me that WB secretariat building has been used to dump old notes. Army is keeping a close eye in this. Army movement near Kolkata was due to yhis fact. Mamta staying there last night tells a lot. TMC has Rs. 13000-17000 crores of black money. Abhishek Banerjee who js Mamta's nephew looks after this money. W..B is truly ruined. 3 trucks full of old notes were transporting these from one place to another. that is why Army kept an eye on vehicles plying on NH 2. My friend told me a no.of things which can not be disclosed here. the bottom line is this-Mamata is a disgusting lady who is selling WB. may god bless W..B.

Good to hear on the objective. Have we received lakhs and crores from middle and low cl people? If so, it's not black money. It's their hard earned savings in chest box. If the book shows 90% is coming from Upper cl and ministers and others, then it fulfils the objective.

First time ever since we freed our motherland India in 1947, a proceedings has started to uproot corruptions from our country and its very first step is "Demonetisation'' and many more steps are yet to come and a long way to go. So let us be with Government led by Modi Ji to get a success on it rather than politicizing the devine efforts.

Mamta's situation reminds me scenes of old Bollywood movie, where even after getting hit by bullets, the hero speaks his last words for 10 minutes and then dies.
