A Karnataka court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda’s son Karthik Gowda on charges of rape and cheating of a young Kannada actress.

Karthik had been courting the actress for the past four months. Apparently, the actress accused Karthik of marrying and dumping her after his family had raised objections on their relationship.

The complaint was filed after Karthik got engaged to a girl of his mother Datty Gowda’s choice in Kodagu district last week.

At a press conference, the actress made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come to her assistance. “I have serious respect for the Prime Minister and I want to appeal to him to help me,” she said.

Since the filing of the police complaint at the RT Nagar police station, the actress and her family members have said that the Railway Minister’s son was keen to marry her, but all such plans were doused by his family a week ago.

“We were introduced to each other on May 8 by a mutual friend and we became close friends. We met frequently and partied together. He was keen on a physical relationship, but I said that it would be inappropriate outside of marriage. He promised to marry me,” the actress alleged.

She said Karthik took her to his family home in Mangalore in June this year and tied a thread around her neck on June 5 signifying a marriage. He introduced her to his friends as his wife, she claimed.

There is nothing more important than being safe. Right now offenders are everywhere and we can never predict what will happen to us. We should always take certain actions to for this to happen and not just relying on other people to do it. For me, I found a safety application on android phone that helps me track offenders on my phone, and just a click on a panic button and it could automatically create a conference call to a 24/7 call center, a safety network and could escalate a call to a nearest 911 if it's a real emergency, check this site out for more information: :safekidzone/?a_aid=...
