Cops book woman after she lodges molestation report

Police today booked a government woman veterinary doctor for allegedly assaulting and ransacking the office of a male colleague in Modinagar,days after she had lodged a complaint accusing him of trying to molest her.

Nirankar Singh,Police Circle officer of Modinagar said the FIR was lodged against Alka Singh,a vet working in state-run Bhojpur Veterinary Centre following a court order on a plea by veterinary officer Mahender Pratap Singh.

Alka had earlier alleged that Mahender had tried to molest her in his Modinagar office on February 16 and assaulted her,police had said.

She had also registered a complaint with National Women Commission and SC & ST Commission against Singh.

Deputy Director,veterinary services,Rajesh Rai said that an inquiry is being conducted in the whole episode.

However,Mahender moved the court which yesterday directed lodging of a case against Alka Singh and two of her supporters,police said.

Nirankar Singh said that investigation is on.
