Suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad today alleged that the saffron party’s “double standard” has been completely exposed on the issue of dealing with corruption.

The party (BJP) does not speak anything on the issue of corruption when it comes to its own leaders but demands resignation of others on the same issue, he said.

“When I raised the Rs 400 crore scam in Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) of which Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was all in all, the party not only defended Jaitley but also suspended me (from the party). Now the same BJP is seeking resignation of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on the mere allegations of corruption,” Azad told reporters here.

The three-time Darbhanga MP and former cricketer said when the party did not ask for resignation from Jaitley, then it did not have right to demand resignation from Kejriwal.

Stating that no government is an honest one, he said that all those people who are facing allegations of corruption should resign from their post.

Azad also favoured initiation of a case against Kejriwal.

Delhi MLA Kapil Mishra, who was sacked from the Arvind Kejriwal cabinet and primary membership of the Aam Admi Party (AAP), had recently made a startling allegation that he witnessed Kejriwal accepting Rs 2 crore in a dodgy transaction.

Azad has been targeting Jaitley ever since he raised his voice about corruption in DDCA.

Azad was suspended by BJP president Amit Shah on December 23, 2015 for publicly targeting Jaitley for alleged irregularities in DDCA.

Jack head should know that the case is kicking and running like a cricket match in delhi court. Now he can ask for bow and bowl his googlies at jaitly in the court instead of giving gog bites to media. Shoot and scoot policy of APE party seems to be more familier for Kirti Azaad.

Politics is a different ball game. You get enough time in politics to gather facts, analyse them and choose the time when to hit unlike cricket. Once you're in politics, try to get expertise over Chanukya neethi and think well before you open your mouth without ever forgetting the fact, the media guys are out there who are over-eager to apply mirch-ma to whatever uttered by you, in a bid to make the same front-page news!

Yes, every govt is corrupt and corrupt people should resign.Every politician is corrupt and using corrupt practice to win the elections. Jaitley may or may not be corrupt and only those who know the specific issues may comment and give statements But,one should not allege corruption merely to settle personal scores.

As rightly pointed out by you, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely as the inspired words go. But I don't think we ought to genaralize saying 'every govt is corrupt ...' Yes, most of the time that has been our experience but things are improving, isn't it so?; good sense lies in our acknowledging the same. As rightly pointed out by you, the corrupt ought to resign. Jaitley has been a highly successful solicitor and there's no proof- not even an iota of it. Normally, the first symptoms of a corrupt system always appear in the form of gossip, as we all know. Clearly Keerthi Azad exceeded his brief by crying foul out of turn and therefore had to pay the price, as rightly pointed out by you, Mr. Jayanand Rao

Other BJP politicians like Shatrughan Sinha etc. have also talked about BJP's double standards quite often...........This party talks about Opposition 's corruption but they indulge in it the most !
