Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) members blocked a road after a cooperative bank failed to provide cash to its customers at Gurduwara Traha in Shamli district, police said on Tuesday. BKU members, led by Vinod Nirval, also locked the door of the the bank on Monday evening, they said. Meanwhile, a SBI bank branch was locked down after customers gheraoed the bank manager at Thanabhawan town and at Bajheri village people blocked a road outside a Gramin Bank on Monday after they failed to get cash.

In another incident, a PNB manager at Galibpur village was kept confined in the bank by villagers, police said. Security has been tightened outside banks in the districts after the incidents, they added.
