On the occasion of Keerthi Suresh’s birthday, the makers of Mahanati have released a glimpse of the actor as the legendary Savitri in the upcoming biopic, which is being directed by Nag Ashwin, who wowed critics and audiences with his Telugu directorial debut Yevade Subramanyam.
While acting was Savitri’s strong suit, her expressive eyes are something which her fans have not been able to get over. Keerthi Suresh, in the glimpse of Mahanati, seems to have got the nuances of being Savitri just right.
The look was also shared by Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She wrote, “Uncovering those eyes..the eyes that are going to tell you a story of a lifetime #Mahanati Happy birthday @KeerthyOfficial @VyjayanthiFilms.” Recently, Samantha also shared a video revealing to fans that she is on the way to shoot for Mahanati. While Keerthi’s glimpse and Dulquer Salmaan’s look as Gemini Ganeshan have already been revealed, Samantha’s role has been kept under wraps.
Savitri made her acting debut in 1950 with Samarasam. She went on to star in several classics such as Devadasu, Missamma, Penin Perumai, Pasa Malar, Bhale Ramudu, Thodi Kodallua, Mayabazaar and Gundamma Katha.

Director Nag Ashwin talking about Mahanati had earlier said, “The story and the character of Savitri is so script like, it has got its emotional thread so strong that I’m very confident that audiences will relate to it. I feel stories need to have a certain value to be made into cinema and this story has value on so many levels – historic and emotional.”
