One of Colors’ most popular dramas, Swaragini, is bidding adieu to the small screen and will be off air by December.
The show, which premiered in March last year, hasn’t had an impressive run in the race for TRPs for past few months and the makers felt it was appropriate to wrap it up.
“The show is going off air, most probably by December or maximum by January beginning. The channel hasn’t decided on its replacement yet,” said a source from Colors.
Swaragini stars Helly Shah, Tejaswi Prakash and Varun Kapoor in the lead roles. It has been produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms Limited, which is behind two of the longest running shows Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Sasural Simar Ka on the television right now.
More than for its drama involving two sisters Swara and Ragini (played by Helly and Tejaswi respectively), Swaragini was liked for the lead pair of Helly and Varun, who plays Sanskaar. Fans fondly address the reel couple as SwaSan.
Apparently, the makers made a lot of changes and introduced new faces in the show to garner more audience. But all went in vain. It has been reported that its producers now don’t see much potential in the show.
Swaragini joins the new trend of popular but short-lived shows, which lose to bad trips. There are reports that the show will be replaced by an upcoming drama, Swabhimaan. But the channel is yet to confirm this part.
