Actor Mrunal Jain, who is seen essaying two different roles – IPS officer Rajveer and Shankachurna – in TV show Nagarjuna – Ek Yoddha, says his look of a police inspector is inspired by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s role in 2012 action drama film Rowdy Rathore.

“IPS officers have a very different way when it comes to talking and even the way they salute. When I was working on my role, the first name that came to my mind was of Akshay Kumar as I have seen Rowdy Rathore and I had really liked his performance in it,” Mrunal said in a statement.

“Hence before we started shooting for Nagarjuna, I watched Rowdy Rathore again and again and observed the way he walks, talks, salutes, and his overall mannerism,” he added.

Mrunal, who has previously appeared in shows like Hitler Didi and Uttaran, says it’s challenging for him to play two characters in the same show.

“For the first time, I have got an opportunity to play two characters in one show which is honestly very challenging. I am thrilled to play an officer and wear an IPS officer’s costume as I am proud of these men as they are the unsung heroes of our country,” he said.
