Kapil Sharma asks PM Narendra Modi ‘ye hai aapke acche din’, Devendra Fadnavis takes action

Kapil Sharma claimed he had to bribe BMC and tagged PM Narendra Modi in a tweet, asking if these are his 'acche din'. The Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has reacted to the tweet.

Kapil Sharma set aside comedy to raise the issue of corruption on Friday when he tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked where are the ‘acche din’ promised by him during general elections. The comedian had earlier tweeted that he was forced to pay a bribe to an unnamed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official or officials for making his office.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis reacted to Kapil’s tweet and said, “Have directed MC,BMC to take strictest action.We will not spare the culprit.@KapilSharmaK9 @narendramodi .”

Kapil in his tweet alleged that he had to pay Rs 5 lakhs to Mumbai civic body for making his office. “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi,” he wrote, tagging PM Modi in the next tweet, “Yeh hain aapke achhe din @narendramodi.”

This is probably the first time that comedian-actor took a stand on social media platform. His angst was clearly reflected in his tweets.

Kapil hosts a popular comedy show – The Kapil Sharma Show on a channel. His show has so far featured many celebreties including cricketers and Bollywood stars. He has also mentioned earlier that he would love to have PM Modi on his show.

“If we have Mr Modi on the show we will not talk about politics, party and all. I would love to know how a man from a small town has come this far and became the PM of our country. It’s an inspirational story. I will try and talk to him,” he had said.

After CM Fadnavis’ tweet, the BMC also requested Kapil Sharma to file a formal complaint. He was also asked to reveal the name of the officer who demanded a bribe from him. “BMC will take strict action if allegations are true. BMC doesn’t tolerate this kind of corruption in its departments,” M Pawar, Chief Engineer, Vigilance said in Mumbai.

Kapil Sharma hosts the hugely popular show, The Kapil Sharma Show. He is among the highest paid celebs in India and his show has Navjot Singh Sidhu as a judge, who recently quit the BJP. Sidhu has announced he will float his own party in the poll-bound Punjab.
