Twenty-two years ago, on this day, when a chef, a sad divorced paleontologist, a singer cum masseuse , a run away bride, a struggling Italian actor and wait… what was Chandler Bing’s job?.. (a transponder? ) met together at a coffee house in New York, hardly did they have any idea that they were creating memories, a history, a show which will be a part of millions of lives forever.
The character’s lives were as sad as their famous song. None of them had a plan for life, each of them was broke at one point of time in their life and had faced messy affairs when it came to love. Let’s not even begin with how they became a ‘joke’ of the show when they did jobs they were not suited for. Yet somehow they were able to surpass their miserable life as they found the magic beans for happiness — each other’s company.
Rachel Greene, stood as an example, that it’s never too late to change your life. She stood as an example that one can be materialistic and a good person simultaneously if only you wish to be.
Oh how can we even begin to describe Monica Geller. The woman who slammed fat shamers, and had the ability to tell you the truth and not hurt you at all (Welcome to the real world, it sucks but you’re gonna love it).
Thanks to Ross Geller, you came to know that it’s okay to embrace the inner nerd in you. After all, a lot of knowledge on dinosaurs and homo sapiens would have been incomplete had this character not been there.
Normal is the new boring and crazy is the real cool. Had Phoebe Buffay not existed, you wouldn’t have completely believed this universal fact isn’t it?
King of sarcasm, Chandler Bing always had the perfect reply to stupidity. We couldn’t be more glad that he fell in love with Monica Geller, the perfect woman in the show. Chandler may have been a little underated by the makers of FRIENDS, however, he was one of the most intelligent characters in the show.
Some may call Joey Tribbiani an idiot, but in reality, he was just a adorably cute kid stuck in an adult’s body. What can he do about it ?
Let’s revisit the song that still makes our evening lively :
Why can’t you guys just make a movie !
