Rahman had also composed songs for the first part for the sci-fi franchise, Enthiran. The music album of the 2010 film was a smash hit with the audience worldwide. So the expectations from 2.0 album are really high.

2.0 is being made three times the budget of Enthiran. Director Shankar has promised to deliver a one-of-its-kind cinematic experience on the Indian celluloid with this film. Usually, the films are shot with 2D cameras and later get converted into the 3D format.
