S Aishwarya who recently produced the Vijay Sethupathi starrer Karuppan has recently donned the hat of a singer for the film Koothan. Aishwarya has sung two songs for the album. Earlier actor-singer Ramya Nambeesan had sung a song for the film’s album.
Talking about the song, “We had first approached her to sing one song in the film. But impressed with her voice, we made her sing two songs in the movie,” said Koothan music director Balaji. While one of the songs has an influence of carnatic music, the other song is a western number. The album has four songs in total.
Incidentally, Aishwarya also has sung two songs in the Telugu movie Oxygen for music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. Koothan is a musical drama that revolves around the lives of dancers. It is directed by A.L.Venky with debutante Rajkumar as the male lead. Koothan also has choreographer-actor Nagendra Prasad in an anti-hero role. It is produced by Nilgris Dream Entertainment.
Aishwarya is also the wife of director A.M.Jyothi Krishna, who is the son of veteran producer of AM Rathnam. She has produced movies such as Ajith’s Yennai Arindhal and Vedhalam apart from Telugu movies. Her last release Karuppan starred Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simhaa and Tanya. It opened to mixed review and received an average response at the box office.
