The jokes stemmed from the actress’ Fair & Lovely ads, most of which revolve around a girl regaining her confidence after using the fairness product. While the commercial has been running for a while now, it’s only now that the Total Siyappa actor has come in the line of fire.
AAP fields Jaaved Jafferi from Lucknow
Actor Jaaved Jafferi will be the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Lucknow, and shall compete with BJP candidate Rajnath Singh for the 22nd Lok Sabha elections. An announcement to this effect was made by the party spokesperson. Jafferi also tweeted about this development. “Contesting elections from Lucknow as an AAP candidate. Here’s to change … Jai Hind!”
The Delhi High Court asked the makers of Bhoothnath Returns to try to settle the dispute with one Sushant Supriya, a Hindi short story writer and poet, who is alleging that the film is based on his short story. Senior advocate Pratibha Maninder Singh, appearing for Supriya, referred to nine expressions from the film’s trailer saying that they have been copied from the short story Bhoothnath of the writer published in 2007 in an Hindi magazine titled Aaj Kal.
Pawan Kalyan supports BJP
Telugu film star Pavan Kalyan, who recently launched Jana Sena Party, said his party would not contest the upcoming elections, though he supported Narendra Modi for the prime minister’s post. The youngest brother of Union minister Chiranjeevi said he could have fielded independent candidates even though his fledgling party did not get recognition from Election Commission in time, but he was not doing that either. The actor was addressing Sena’s first public meeting in Hyderabad recently.
