Govinda who is playing a baddie in Kill Dil reveals that he was not confident that he would be able to pull off the role of Bhaiyaji, a character who nurtures and trains two abandoned young men, (played by Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar) to become killers.
Quite nervous on the first day of shoot, the actor regained his confidence once he faced the camera. After that there was no holding back and all the scenes were okayed in one or two takes. And Govinda’s part of the shooting which was to finish in 15-16 days wrapped up in about 14 days! The actor recalls shooting for the scene where both his proteges are in love and want to leave him.
“I wanted to get my act right, so when shooting for this particular scene I remembered that there were some erstwhile kings who, if they felt that a game of chess was not going the way they wanted, would spoil it. Similarly for this scene, I suggested to Shaad (Shaad Ali the director) that Bhaiyaji should covertly spoil their game with a cunning move and he agreed. It was a crucial scene, but I did not have much to do which added to the challenge of making it effective. And sure enough the scene turned out very well,” explained Govinda.
Kill Dil is produced by Aditya Chopra and releases on November 14.
