Rakesh Roshan has joined hands with other owners of the high-rise building Lotus Business Park to offer compensation to Shubhangi, the bereaved wife of Nitin Ivalekar, the fireman who lost his own life while trying to save those trapped in the building fire last week. She will be given a cheque of Rs.15 lakh which will help her with her children’s education. Roshan also owns a property in the 22 storeyed building that had fire-safety equipments which nobody knew how to use them.

 

Dream house sold

Aashirwad, the late superstar Rajesh Khanna’s dream bungalow, a sea-facing landmark structure in Bandra, Mumbai, has been bought by Shashi Kiran Shetty, executive chairman of Allcargo Logistics. The sale has apparently fetched Khanna’s daughters Twinkle Kumar and Rinkie Khanna who are the sole beneficiaries around
Rs. 90 crore. The controversial property on a prime location in Carter Road, was renamed Vardaan by them and has been sporting a new name plate since after his death.
