Last seen in the critically acclaimed Table No. 21, Rajeev Khandelwal has some interesting projects on hand. In all likelihood, the actor may be seen in a film helmed by choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza. Ask Khandelwal about it and he says, “We’ve been discussing it for a while now, and also had a couple of test shoots. So, yes, I’m definitely in talks with him for a film. But I think it’s too early for me to speak about it.” Presently, Khandelwal is in the process of finishing the dubbing for his film Samrat & Co which is produced by Rajshri Productions. “It’s a complete Sherlock (Sherlock Homes) kind of a film, in which I play a detective called Samrat. It’s interesting because you don’t really see a film like this coming from a banner like Rajshri. Incidentally, this is my first film which won’t be an adult film,” laughs the actor, adding that he somehow ended up doing only ‘A’ rated films like Aamir and Shaitaan. Samrat & Co can be expected to release in the first week of May.
Meanwhile, the actor has also finished shooting for debutant Rajeev Zaveri helmed film Fever, that shall see him paired opposite three actresses, one of them being Gauahar Khan. He however, refused to divulge much about the project. “All I can say is, that I play a lot of characters in Fever. The film has been shot entirely in Switzerland,” says Khandelwal. Surprisingly, while he had a romantic image on television because of the Balaji Telefilms’ Kahiin Toh Hoga that aired in 2003, the actor has never done a romantic film. “That’s one of my top agendas this year— to do a romantic film,” reveals the actor.
