Dolly Ki Doli, starring Sonam Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat and Rajkummar Rao, is expected to go on floors on April 1. Produced under Arbaaz Khan’s production house, the film will see Samrat donning the cop’s uniform yet again after Jai Ho. “I’m playing a cop from Haryana in the film. I’ve already begun attending workshops to prepare for the role,” said Samrat. The film is directed by debutant Abhishek Dogra.
Post Dolly Ki Doli, Samrat will also be seen in Excel Entertainment’s Bangistan, which also stars Riteish Desmukh. Talking about it, Samrat says, “It’s a different take on world peace, and how religion is exploited by terrorists, but the film is hilarious. I don’t think I’ve seen a satire like that.” The film is expected to go on floors by May-June. Interestingly, Samrat is also in the process of trying various looks for the film, which may suit his character.
For the time being though, Samrat has been solely concentrating on O Teri, that sees him play a media intern. In order to prepare for this character, who is also a Delhi boy, Samrat spent some time in Delhi, before the film went on floors. “I took it as a challenge, because even in Bittoo Boss and Fukrey, I played a Delhi boy. I wanted to be able to play all the three characters differently. In O Teri though, Bilal’s (Amrohi) character and mine are always in search of scams, and big stories that we have highlighted in the film, in order to impress our boss, played by Sarah Jane Dias.” O Teri is directed by Umesh Bist.
