In 2010, actress Padmini Kolhapure had announced her debut production venture Lathi under her banner Star Talash. Starring Sachin Khedekar as a school teacher, Master Desai, the film was stalled after director Sanjay Surkar passed away.

Earlier, there was a guest appearance slotted for her in the film. But certain changes were made to the storyline after Mr Surkar passed away, where the character which was to be played by Tejaswini did not fit in the story line.”
The film, a socially relevant drama that charts the journey of a school teacher, who devotes his entire life imparting knowledge to children, only to realise that what they had imbibed was completely different. Directed by Mahesh Aney, the film is now complete. According to Kolhapure the first copy of the film is due to release anytime.
