In a first-of-its kind promotional strategy, producer Sunil Bohra will be releasing 35 posters of his upcoming production venture, Mastram. Since the film is a colourful erotica about a series of porn fiction books written by a reluctant writer, who writes under the pseudonym Mastram, Bohra thought it would be interesting to give the film’s promotional activities a new twist.
“I come from a film family and since years, I have seen how important the look of a poster can be when it comes to promoting the film. Mastram is a whacky film, with a different take on life and things. So we thought, why not present several posters of the film, instead of just sticking to two-three boring ones? At first, we designed 10 posters. Gradually, the number went up and we ended up designing 35 quirky posters,” stated Bohra. One of the posters depicts a pen, while another shows the protagonist fervently working on the typewriter. He plans to put up one different poster in each area of Mumbai, so that the audience gets to see a new look of the film wherever they go.
Directed by debutant Akhilesh Jaiswal who had written Gangs of Wasseypur, the film stars Rahul Bagga and Tara Alisha Berr. Produced by Bohra brothers and Jar Picture Productions, Mastram is scheduled to release on May 1.

Mango to release in June – July

Abbas Tyrewala’s next directorial venture, Mango, starring Rannvijay Singh, Monali Thakur, Swara Bhaskar among others, which was earlier scheduled to release on April 11, has now been pushed to a later date. Confirming the news, the director stated that it’s unlikely for the film to release in April, since they still have some work left. The film is now scheduled to hit the screens by June – July. “We were being a bit optimistic about the completion. But it looks like the film will only be ready by end of April. Only then can MSM Motion Pictures and Kaleidoscope Entertainment figure out the release strategy. Honestly, I am very happy because June – July are traditionally the best months for films aimed at a younger crowd,” mentioned Tyrewala.
