Kangana Ranaut plays a double role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, that of a Haryanvi athlete and R. Madhavan’s wife. In the two characters that she plays in the sequel to the successful 2011, Tanu Weds Manu, she will look as different as chalk and cheese.
“Kangana’s look as an athlete and the Haryanvi accent that she will be seen speaking in the film is Anand’s (Anand L. Rai) idea. He wanted to give her a different identity. But what is unique about the sequel is that the story is the continuation of the original, unlike other sequels of other films where we generally see a change in the story, actors and at times directors,” said Krishika Lulla, co-producer of the film.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns is made under Eros International Ltd banner, and is produced and directed by Anand L. Rai.
The shooting of the first schedule of the film in Lucknow has wrapped up and the second schedule will take off this month in Delhi.
