Although there were speculations that director Mohit Suri’s next directorial venture, Hamari Adhuri Kahaani is based on his uncle Mahesh Bhatt’s life, the film actually resembles Bhatt’s step-mother’s story and is not his biography. Confirming the same, Suri stated, “Today, he understands the emotions of his step-mom and the reasons why she was in a particular relationship. The film touches this aspect.”
Emraan Hashmi too is quite kicked about doing the film. “I am excited because the story is very interesting. Working with Mohit and Vidya Balan again is going to be quite an experience,” stated the actor. Earlier, Bhatt had opined that the trio – Balan, Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao, fit their respective characters perfectly and he didn’t want to make the film with anyone else.
Suri will start working on the film’s pre-production next month and Hamari Adhuri Kahaani takes off in India this September. The director described the film as a romantic-drama, which will explore the life span of a person right from childhood, marriage, post-marriage, children and ultimately, death.
