In the few years of his acting career, actor Arunoday Singh has explored many genres — from a romantic thriller like Yeh Saali Zindagi and a rom-com like Main Tera Hero to an erotica Jism 2 and a serious film Sikandar. However, the actor has mostly done positive roles in all these films.
But this year, he is in an experimental mode. Last week, the actor joined the cast and crew of Ashutosh Gowariker’s magnum-opus, Mohenja Daro in Bhuj where the shooting of the film kicked off on January 27.
Interestingly, he will be seen in a negative role in the film. Playing Kabir Bedi’s son, Singh will be involved in lot of action sequences with Hrithik Roshan.
According to the Ashutosh Gowariker’s spokesperson, the film-maker brought Singh on board because they wanted someone who was good looking and at the same time fierce, in order to play the young antagonist opposite Roshan’s character. On his part, Singh is very excited about the period flick.
“There’s not much I can say about the role other than he’s a terrific character to play. The character is very physical and complex,” says Singh as he adds that he hasn’t trained specially for the role. “That’s all going to happen on set with the supervision of the action director (Glen Boswell). I’ve just kept myself ready and prepared for whatever I’m asked to do,” he says.
According to Singh, “I chose the role because I would get to work with some amazing people in a big budget film. And villains are always cool. It seemed an obvious decision,” he remarked when asked why he opted for the role of the antagonist. In fact, Singh would also be playing the lead villain in Vishesh Films Mr X that releases
