Music composer A.R Rahman has already created waves in Hollywood with his compositions for projects like 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire. This time, he has been roped in to work on the background score for Disney’s upcoming film, Million Dollar Arm, starring John Hamm and Alan Arkin in pivotal roles. Rahman has been asked to compose a bunch of original scores and has also been told to use loops from some of his old compositions. The original soundtrack album (OST) will include seven songs, which will be a mix of English, Tamil and Hindi tracks. Confirming the same, the composer took to his official Twitter account. “Have been busy finishing the soundtrack album of Million Dollar Arm. It features collaborations with Iggy, Kendrick Lamar (in the movie only), Sukhwinder Singh, Raghav Mathur, K.T. Tunstall. And a surprise Tamil song from my 90s collection, during the end credits, featuring K. S. Chithra and Unnikrishnan. And of course, lots of underscore…” he tweeted.
Million Dollar Arm shows J.B. Bernstein’s career as a sports agent whose fate rests with finding an exceptionally gifted young cricketer in India, who can be trained for a popular American baseball team. The film is scheduled to hit the screens in India on May 9, 2014, a week before the US release.

DJ Shilpi to remix Honey Singh’s Achko Machko in Mastram

Actress-turned-DJ Shilpi Sharma has been roped in to remix Yo Yo Honey Singh’s upcoming track, Achko Machko, which is the theme song for Sunil Bohra’s upcoming production venture, Mastram. Since her last remix, Baby Doll earned a lot of popularity, it was easier for Sharma to bag the offer. Confirming the same, she stated, “Achko Machko is a peppy dance number. I have tried playing the track at a few clubs to see the audience reaction and trust me, they loved it. I am excited to work on the final mix with Honey Singh.”
