The makers of the yet-untitled Telugu redux of Malayalam blockbuster “Premam”, which went on floors last week, are yet to finalize the third leading lady.

“So far only Anupama Parameswaran and Shruti Haasan have been confirmed and they’ve already started shooting. The makers are in talks with Aisha Sharma to play the third heroine, but nothing has been finalized yet,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Contrary to the rumours, Regina Cassandra is not part of the project.

“Regina was initially considered but was never approached. Aisha is still under consideration and only if she’s not signed, will anyone else be even considered,” the source.

Naga Chaitanya plays the lead in the film, which is being directed by Chandoo Mondeti. While Shruti plays a lecturer, Anupama will be seen as a school student.

This coming-of-age drama, which traces three stages in the life of its protagonist over a decade, is being produced by S. Radha Krishna.

They should've dubbed Nivin Pauly's version in Telugu. The actors and the makers did magic in the original version . I don't think it can be recreated with an actor who has recently debuted in 2009. Nivin Pauly lived that character. I don't think Chaitanya will be able to do that. Also, a good number of people from Andhra have seen the film, so you cannot expect them to hide the climax. It is the marketing brilliance because of which the film had become a huge success in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Also, the cinematography and the locations are awesome. I don't think we can get such kind of locations here in coastal Andhra or Telangana. -----All this is coming from a hard core Telugu guy.
