Actor Allu Sirish is on a film signing spree. The young actor, who has made a mark in the Telugu film industry with his chocolate boy looks, recently signed a sci-fi film as its main lead. The actor, meanwhile, has also been roped in to play one of the leads in a Malayalam film starring Mohanlal.
Yes, Sirish is all set to make his Malayalam debut alongside Mohanlal in a war movie. He will play an important role in the film titled 1971 – Beyond Borders, which will be helmed by Major Ravi.
The forthcoming war movie is part of the Major Mahadevan series of Mohanlal. Major Mahadevan is arguably the most influential and powerful role played by the Malayalam superstar. He has essayed the role of the popular army officer in 2009 film Kirthi Chakra and 2008 film Kurukshetra.
1971 – Beyond Borders, a prequel to Kurukshetra, is based on the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Mohanlal will play a dual role, one as iconic Major Mahadevan and as his dad Colonel Sahadevan.
Earlier, speculations were rife that Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati will make his Malayalam debut with this film. However, the actor took to Twitter and clarified that he was never part of the film. “This is news to me :)! What film is this ???/ [sic],” he tweeted. “Would be an honour to work with Lal sir but nothing so far!!.”

However, Sirish as an upcoming actor couldn’t have asked for more. His star brother Allu Arjun is very popular in Kerala. Due to his popularity among the Malayalam audience, he is also lovingly called Mallu Arjun.
Sirish, who has a strong resemblance to Arjun, may instantly click with the Malayalam cine-goers. In Telugu, he will be playing a lead role in the untitled sci-fi flick directed by Vi Anand. The shooting for the film is expected to start from November.
