Popular Tamil actor Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrasekhar slipped and fell at a resort in Kumarakom on Wednesday (August 24) and had to immediatelly undergo a surgery at a hospital in Kottayam.
Chandrasekhar, a popular producer and director, was at the tourist destination of Kumarakom as part of discussion of an upcoming project.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning. Chandrasekhar slipped and fell in a toilet, suffering head and back injuries, hospital sources said.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital here by two assistant directors and the doctors conducted a surgery. The doctors have advised him a week’s rest and said that he is recovering well and there is no need for any concern, the source added.
The noted Tamil director-producer S A Chandrasekar was admitted to a hospital after he suffered injuries due to a fall, hospital sources said. An emergency surgery was performed on his neck, sources said.
Chandrasekhar made his directorial debut with Sattam Oru Iruttarai (1981) and went on to direct social themed films. Chandrasekar has directed over 70 movies in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Some of his hits include Vetri, Naan Sigappu Manithan, and Mutham. He also directed some Telugu movies such as Chattaniki Kallu Levu with Chiranjeevi. Most of his movies are with Vijayakanth. He has appeared in supporting roles in some movies like Naan Sivappu Manithan. Directors S. Shankar, M. Rajesh and Ponram had worked with him as assistants.
