Yes, you heard it right! Tamil queen Tamannaah Bhatia might lead be seen in the remake of Kangana Ranaut’s Bollywood blockbuster and news is that director Revathi would be helming the project.
“Ever since I saw Queen, I wanted to be a part of its remake. What makes the film special is that it’s one of those rare women-centric films which succeeded in reaching out to everybody, across all sections of the audience,” Tamannaah said, as quoted by Mumbai Mirror.
She also feels that Revathi taking over the Tamil remake of Vikas Bahl’s critically acclaimed hit movie Queen is a good move. Not only that, she also had revealed in the report that Suhasini Maniratnam will be penning dialogues for the film. Even though the actor has signed the project, the dates of the shoot have yet to be confirmed. The actor was also said to be approached for another remake of a Telugu rom-com.
Other reports suggest that Nayanthara and Trisha have been initially approached for the film but both backed out due to lack of dates.
Queen became a game changer for Kangana after it won her multiple National Awards including one for her for being Best Actress.
Meanwhile, Tamannaah is on a roll with three back-to-back hits and about six to seven projects at several stages of discussion. She is also awaiting the release of Vishal’s Kathithi Sandai and sequel to Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Her last outing was a tri-lingual film, Devi, with Prabhu Deva and Sonu Sood, which got a cold reception.
