Suriya to team up with director Vignesh Shivan for next

Actor Suriya, who is currently busy with Tamil actioner “Singam 3”, will next team up with “Naanum Rowdydhaan” director Vignesh Shivan for a yet-untitled project.

“Happy to associate with Suriya and Vignesh Shivan for our next project. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the tunes,” read a statement from Studio Green, who will be bankrolling the project.

The Tamil project, which happens to be Suriya’s 35th film, is expected to go on the floors next month.

According to a source close to the film’s unit, the makers are most likely to rope in Keerthy Suresh or Nayanthara as the leading lady.

Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment will co-produce the film.

He will also be teaming up with director Pa. Ranjith in his next film whose last film Kabali starring Rajinikanth broke records at the box office.

Talking to reporters at the audio launch of Telugu dubbed version of Kabali, Ranjith had said he’ll be teaming up with Suriya next.

”After Kabali, I’ll be working with Suriya sir. This project will go on the floors after he wraps up Singam 3,” he said.

Suriya-starrer Tamil actioner “Singam 3” aka “S3” also stars actress Shruti Haasan in the film. She will plays a journalist in the film.

“Shruti plays a Vidya, a journalist who helps Suriya crack a big case. By working together, they bring down the empire of the antagonist,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Directed by Hari, “S3” is the third instalment in the “Singam” franchise and it also stars Anushka Shetty among a battalion of supporting actors.

Suriya dons khaki yet again in the film, which has music by Harris Jayaraj.
