The teaser of actor Suriya’s highly awaited film Singam 3 has clocked one million views in a record time on YouTube. The production house behind the super cop film took to Twitter to announce the news.
“Proud in announcing that we have set a new YouTube RECORD #S3TeaserHits1MillionViews in less than 3hours! A record by itself! @Suriya_offl,” Studio Green tweeted.
The teaser of the Suriya-starrer is only the third Tamil film to have hit the 1 million mark in just a few hours of its release on YouTube. According to reports, Rajinikanth’s Kabali raked in 1 million views in just one hour, while Vijay’s forthcoming film Bairavaa reached that number in two hours and Suriya’s Singam 3 in three hours.
Suriya stands out in the 1.23-minute long teaser, which gives a sneak peak at the actor’s power-packed performance in action sequences and while delivering punch lines. The teaser begins with Suriya reciting lines from a MGR song, which suggest that “if anyone knowingly commits a crime, he cannot escape the honest cop, not even God.” That is followed by another punch line, which is guaranteed to enthrall the audience at the theatre. The audience can expect more such raging dialogues in the film.
The teaser also shows leading ladies of the film, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan, and also provides a glimpse of Thakur Anoop Singh, who makes his Kollywood debut with this film.
Thakur, Mr 2015 and a popular television personality, can be seen working out while onboard a flight.
Singam 3 is the third installment in the super cop series, created by director Hari. The expectations from Singam 3 are already high compared to its prequels and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the film gets the biggest opening when it hits the screens on December 16.
The Singam makers have been running online and offline campaigns promoting the film. The post production work of Singam 3 is going on in full-swing as the film is scheduled to release in December. The film has music from Harris Jayaraj, who has composed several memorable songs for Suriya’s films in the past. After finishing Singam 3, director Hari will helm the sequel to his 2003 blockbuster Saamy, with Vikram and Trisha in the lead roles.
