The much-awaited Ram Charan Teja action flick Dhruva on Monday cleared its censor formalities and the board gave a U/A certificate to the movie. The film, after much deliberation, has been scheduled to hit the screens worldwide on December 9.
Many of the Tollywood movies landed in trouble after the government’s demonetisation drive. A few movies have been delayed and some have ended up with a poor reception at the Tollywood box office. It was said that the film will release on December 2 but was pushed back by a week. Reports suggested that the actor is adamant about the release date as he wants a month’s gap between the release of his father’s comeback movie Khaidi No 150 and Dhruva.
Finishing the last leg of the shooting, the film wrapped previous week after the last scenes were shot in exotic locations of Thailand’s Krabi islands. The lead actors posted the news on social media. “And it’s a wrap for Dhruva! My team that keeps me going!” Ram Charan Teja had said.
Dhruva is the official Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster, Jayam Ravi’s Thani Oruvan. Music has been composed by Hiphop Tamizha, who also composed for the Tamil original and cinematography is by PS Vinod. Under Surender Reddy’s direction, the film features Rakul Preet Singh who plays Ram Charan’s ladylove, apart from Arvind Swamy who is also seen playing a crucial role.
The film is expected to be a big show for the star as it packs some heavy-duty action sequences shot in exotic and remote locations. Rakesh Udiyar, who has worked with Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in Sultan and Dangal respectively, has also been working with Ram Charan for his bulky yet rugged look in Dhruva.
