After Akshay Kumar’s beastly look made waves, the makers of 2.0 have launched another poster, this time with Thalaivar in his element. Wearing a suit that seems to be made of electrodes, Rajinikanth looks dapper in the poster. Also, if you notice, Rajini is wearing a shirt that looks a lot like an electronic chip. Looking at the set behind and considering Shankar’s visual choices, the still could be part of the song, “Endhira logathu sundariye”. Crooned by Sid Sriram and Shashaa Tirupati with the verses penned by Madhan Karky, the song describes a relationship between two machines. Possibly between Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson, the song mildly reminds us of “Irumbile oru Idhayam” and so does Rajini’s look in the poster.

The film’s audio album was recently launched in Dubai in one of the biggest events in Indian film history. 2.0 also sparked off some speculation as Akshay Kumar’s Padman was confirmed to release on January 26, the weekend of 2.0’s scheduled launch. Reports later suggested that the film might release on April 13, 2018. However, there has been no official confirmation yet.

Helmed by Shankar, 2.0 is the second-most expensive film made in Asia with a budget of more than 400 crores. Apart from Rajini and Amy Jackson, the film also has Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who is making his Kollywood debut. With a beastly crow like look, it looks like Akshay will essay the role of an alien in the movie. Earlier reports have suggested that the actor will not only look unique but will also sound unique, thanks to sound designer Resul Pookutty and team. The film is also being directly shot in 3D by Nirav Shah, using cutting edge technology.
