With two back-to-back projects in his hands and another one on cards, it seems power star Pawan Kalayan in rushing with films in 2017. But the reason why he is moving so fast in Tollywood became clear in his speech at a political rally in Anantapur on Friday. The actor turned politician is running for elections in the state in 2019.
Speaking about the delay in giving special status to Andhra Pradesh state, Pawan hinted that his party is readying the ground for elections.
“I am going to start the Jana Sena office from Anantpur. I will contest as an MLA in 2019 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. I don’t know whether I will win or lose but I will definitely fight the battle,” Pawan Kalyan said at the rally.
Pawan Kalyan is the founder member of political party Jana Sena in Andhra and Telangana states. Since the formation of his party in 2014, the actor was seen in just two films — Sardaar Gabbar Singh and a cameo in Gopala Gopala. However, he also made it clear that he will not stop acting calling it his ‘livelihood’.
From September 2016, the actor opened the dam gates to Tollywood taking two Tamil remakes and singing another one for shooting in 2017. Under the direction of Dolly, Pawan is busy filming his upcoming actioner Katamarayudu, which is the official remake of Ajith-starrer Veeram. He has also teamed up with Jilla fame R T Neason to launch the remake of Tamil film Vedalam. More recently, he has also signed another project with popular director Trivikram Srinivas.
If the actor is really up for the poll battle, the year 2017 and early 2018 will be very crucial for him to make a mark in the Telugu film industry.
