In one of the major leaks of scenes in Tollywood, it’s not just Baahubali 2 that bore the brunt but Akkineni Nagarjuna’s upcoming flick Om Namo Venkatesaya (ONV) also faced the similar fate.
According to reports, a 10-minute clip of ONV was also leaked by the same gang which had stolen the Baahubali 2 climax war sequence. However, the clip wasn’t shared online and the filmmakers could avert the damage. Reportedly, the flash drive that was seized by the police also contained moments from ONV. The suspects who worked for Annapurna Studios were working on both the projects simultaneously as both the films were being shot currently in Ramoji Film City.
However, the ONV team hasn’t confirmed the presence of any such material on the drive or the leak from the graphics team.
In the footage leak case of Baahubali 2, a nine-minute video clip of the film was leaked online that is said to be doing the rounds on social media. The film team revealed that the man identified was nabbed by the cops and was handed over to cyber crime cell with the help of security features on the sets.
“It is very unfortunate that a small unfinished video clip of Baahubali movie was leaked online. Sincere thanks to our fans that have alerted us very early and the local police and cyber crime division for their prompt response. We have many security features to deter precisely these kinds of situations. However, filmmaking is a collaborative effort involving hundreds of people across multiple locations and we need to work on trust! Sometimes in very rare cases this trust is not maintained leading to this unpardonable and unfortunate situation!” Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda had said.
Om Namo Venkatesaya is an upcoming devotional film directed by K Raghavendra Rao starring Nagarjuna. The film is based on the story of Hathi Ram Baba, a devotee of Lord Venkateswara. The film is bankrolled by Mahesh Reddy under AMR Sai Krupa Entertainments banner. The film also features Pragya Jaiswal and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. Currently, the film is progressing at a brisk pace and it will hit the screens next year.
