Actor Nithin’s father Sudhakar Reddy has clinched the distribution rights of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th movie Gautamiputra Satakarni for Nizam area.
“Happy to announce that we will be distributing the prestigious N.B.K gari 100th film GAUTAMIPUTRA SATAKARNI for Nizam area… Thank you Krish and Rajeev garu,” Nithin officially announced on Twitter on Saturday.
The movie is the 100th film for veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna who is playing the title role. Shriya Saran is the female lead in the movie. It is also Shriya’s second film with him. The actress will be taking up the role as a royal princess, Vashisti Devi, in the movie. The movie also features popular Bollywood actress Hema Malini playing Satakarni’s mother.
Under the direction of National Award-winning filmmaker Krish, the movie is based on the life of a warrior of the Satavahana empire in the second century CE, Gautamiputra Satakarni. Chiranthan Bhatt is the music composer and First Frame Entertainments is bankrolling the film which has been slated for a release during Sankranti weekend, on January 12 next year. The movie is reportedly made at a budget of Rs 70 crore.
After recent titles like Legend, Lion and Simha, Balakrishna will be seen in a completely new look for this film. The movie is expected to be a turning point in his acting career as his all-time hit Legend movie made a collection of Rs 40 crore. With Gautamiputra Satakarni having double the budget of his highest grosser, this one is a much-awaited treat for his fan base and for himself too.
