Youth entertainer and romantic film Nirmala Convent is setting up a platform launching a slew of new players: Popular actor Srikanth’s son Roshan Meka playing the lead role, Oscar-winning music director A R Rahman’s son Ameen Rahman singing a song, music director Saluri Koteswara Rao’s son Saluri Roshan giving music to the movie and Bollywood music director and singer Shankar Mahadevan’s son Siddarth Mahadevan with another song. Not only that, even Bollywood playback singer Kailash Kher was also roped in for another track.

The movie, produced under the banners of Annapurna Studios, also features producer King Nagarjuna playing a cameo role. Nirmala Convent is a romantic film directed by G Naga Koteswara Rao with Roshan Meka and Shriya Sharma playing the lead roles. The audio launch of the movie took place on Thursday and the film is ready to hit the screen on September 16.

“My son, after composing the tune, asked me to make A R Rahman’s son sing the song. I mailed Rahman and he said he will ask his family and get back me in 10 days. He replied and Ameen sang the song,” said Koti.

Actor Rajiv Kanakala and anchor Suma Kanakala’s son also makes a debut in this movie.

Male lead Roshan Meka’s father Srikanth is happy about his son making his debut in this film. “My son is more confident than I am. His dedication and hard work was very evident during the shoots. The concept of the movie is perfect and I am proud that he took the role,” said Srikanth. “My son is very lucky to be a part of the movie,” added actress and Roshan’s mother Ooha.

Roshan Meka gave an emotional and powerful speech. “Nirmala Convent is a fresh teenage love story and people are misunderstanding it. I am also happy that mother and father have supported me all through,” said Roshan Meka.

And the crowd went crazy as the King took over the mike. “I thank music director Roshan Saluri who said my voice was nice,” said Nagarjuna chuckling. “When I first acted in movies, people said Nagarjuna’s voice isn’t good, it’s thin and he can’t even deliver the dialogues. I heard this for a really long time from fans, from home and directors too. Then came Roshan who says my voice is good and asked to sing a song. I jumped in and sang one,” said Nagarjuna who sang in his own voice, after 17 years, in this movie.

“Roshan (lead actor) was wonderful and confident in the movie and I was so happy with his performance. I also like Srikanth a lot we did a lot of movies together. Roshan carried the movie on his shoulders and I really admire his performance. I am also in the second half of movie,” Nagarjuna added.

The Akkineni scion also said that he is going to do just one movie this year and will produce movies of his sons. “I will wrap up with just one movie this year, Om Namo Venkatesaya, and will busy producing two pictures with my sons Chaitanya and Akhil,” said Nagarjuna ending the show.
