After smashing all box office records in Malayalam’s Mollywood, the Mohanlal-hit Pulimurugan is set to be dubbed in Telugu as Manyam Puli for the Tollywood audience.
Telugu actor Jagapati Babu on Friday confirmed the news on his Facebook page sharing the success of the movie. Peter Hein, who handled the fight choreography for the movie, posted the first look poster.
“Extremely excited to be a part of Mohanlal Garu’s Pulimurugan that is already creating waves at the box office. Currently dubbing for the Telugu version which will be out soon!” the actor posted.
In fact, the movie is also set to be dubbed in other foreign languages after its domestic success. It will be dubbed in Chinese, Vietnamese, English and Hindi.
The Kerala box office hit Pulimurugan made stupendous collections by becoming the first movie to cross Rs 20-crore mark in just five days after its release. The action entertainer has already collected Rs 30 crore from ticket sales in its first week. Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 25 crore, the movie minted one-fifth of the amount on its opening day alone. This is a new single day collection record in Malayalam, as none of the films, including superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali, has made such a collection.
Reports also suggested that not just in Kerala, the Malayalam action adventure was also receiving a rocking response in Chennai, where the film has the fifth position at the box office among other new releases.
Under the direction of Vysakh, the movie also stars Kamalani Mukherjee opposite Mohanlal and other actors including Jagapati Babu, Lal and Vinu play crucial roles.
