Striking one of the biggest deals in Tollywood, Lahari Music has clinched audio rights of Prabhas’s magnum opus Baahubali 2, megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film Khaidi no 150 and Balakrishna’s 100th film Gutamiputra Satakarni. All three films are slated for release in the first half of next year.
The audio company had also released music of many hit titles of these big-ticket stars ranging from Chiru’s Hitler, Master, Gang Leader to Balakrishna’s Lion, Lorry Driver. The label launched music of Prabhas’s earlier hits too.
“We are very happy to have secured the music rights of Chiranjeevi’s 150th movie. Balakrishna’s 100th film is another audio, which our label has acquired. It was Lahari, which released the music of ‘Legend’, ‘Lion’, ‘Lorry Driver’, ‘Nari Nari Naduma Murari’, ‘Rowdy Inspector’, ‘Ashwamedham’, ‘Nippu Ravva’, ‘Bangaru Bullodu’ and ‘Mitrudu’. Now, we have acquired the music rights of ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’, one of the most prestigious films to be coming out from Tollywood,” G Manohar Naidu, the label’s director said.
Baahubali franchise is still considered the costliest bargain of all the deals. Earlier, Sony bought Baahubali 2’s overseas rights for a whopping Rs 50 crore. Lahari music was no less as it said it has invested a hefty sum to get the deal.
“It’s ‘Baahubali-The Beginning’ which has catapulted Tollywood to the international stage. S S Rajamouli’s work became an international sensation, exceeding everybody’s expectations. With the first part becoming a humongous hit, expectations about ‘Baahubali 2′ are naturally very high. The first look poster, released on the eve of Prabhas’ birthday, has been getting a huge reception all over. There are high expectations from Keeravani’s music,” added Naidu.
