While Gautamiputra Satakarni is slated for grand release on Sankranthi next year, reports now suggest that Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar has been roped in for a crucial role in the film. However, the details of the role are unknown. The reports also say that director Krish approached the actor with the role and Rajkumar immediately agreed.
Producers Rajeev Reddy and Saibabu Jagarlamudi have also said that the business of the film is closed wrapping up the distribution formalities with a hefty deal.

The filmmakers are also planning to release the trailer of Balakrishna’s hundredth movie in 100 theatres across the globe in the first week of December.
Under the direction of Krish, the movie is based on the life history of a warrior of the Satavahana empire in the second century CE, Gautamiputra Satakarni.
The movie features Nandamuri Balakrishna playing the titular role. Shriya Saran will be playing the female lead opposite NBK in the movie. It will be her second film in combination with the star. The filmmakers are also featuring popular Bollywood actor Hema Malini in the role of Satakarni’s mother. Chiranthan Bhatt is rendering music for the film, which is being bankrolled by First Frame Entertainments on a budget of Rs 70 crore. The film is slated for release in January next year.
