Janatha Garage, after a whopping collection in its first one week, is headed to the next big thing — Rs 100-crore club. The movie which was released in Telugu and dubbed in Malayalam has grossed over Rs 79 crore worldwide in both the languages till date, reported Andhra Box Office (ABO).
According to the data published by ABO, the movie earned Rs 51 crore in AP and Nizam alone. Interestingly in Karnataka and the USA there was a thumping collection of Rs 10.5 crore and 9.50 crore respectively.
The Jr NTR-Mohanlal starrer had a massive start, minting around Rs 21 crore on day one. This movie has become the fastest grosser for Jr NTR in his acting career and also his fourth movie to have crossed the mark. The movie also had set a non-Baahubali record in its first week in Tollywood.

However, area-wise collection shares show that Janathan Garage broke the records in Andhra’s Vizag, East, Krishna and Guntur districts. The movie was released on over 2000 screens across the globe including 1000 in Aandhra Pradesh and Telangana, around 550 screens in other parts of India and 400 screens in the international markets.
The extended weekend both in India and the USA were seen as the reasons to propel the collection numbers. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said on Tuesday that Janatha Garage got good business just on Monday alone.
“Telugu film #JanathaGarage did GOOD biz on Mon [Labor Day holiday] in USA… Mon $ 115,793. Total: $ 1,553,591 [₹ 10.30 cr]. @Rentrak,” Adarsh tweeted.
With a reported Rs 40 crore budget for the movie, Janatha Garage has already made twice as much.
