It’s confirmed now. Popular south Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not taking up projects. And the reason isn’t because of her wedding with Naga Chaitanya early next year. It is because no good roles are coming her way.

The actress on Saturday took to Twitter to share her disappointment. “I haven’t signed as many films as I’d like too only and only because there are no good roles. As disheartening as it is to say,” Samantha posted.

Well, she also said it’s a tough job to get good roles in movies down south.

“Realising just how hard it is to get a meaningful role for a heroine in the south. #timeforchange #nowornever,” she added.

Last week, riding high on the success of her four back-to-back hits, Samantha laid all the rumours to rest that she is won’t sign any new film due to her wedding.

“#Theri, #24TheMovie, #AAa and #JanathaGarage. My filmography got its gold stars. Thank you for an amazing year. To many more great films,” she had tweeted.

Samantha is rumoured of not taking up any movies after her wedding, which is likely to happen this year. In a press conference, a few days back, Chaitanya’s father Akkineni Nagarjuna had also said that the dates for their marriage will be finalized after they find an ‘auspicious’ time for the nuptials.

Currently, Samantha is enjoying her quick fame after her blockbuster Janatha Garage, starring Jr NTR and Mohanlal, joined the Rs 100-crore club, becoming the second fastest grosser in Tollywood. Samantha has acted in as many as 18 Telugu feature films till bagging many honours including Filmfare Awards, Nandi Awards, and South India’s SIIMA Awards.
