The next action flick from Ram Charan Teja, Dhurva, is slated for release later this year and the filmmakers presented his daredevil cop act in a one-minute teaser on Tuesday. The teaser has already hit the internet with a bang, registering close to one million views in less than 24 hours.
In Dhruva, Ram Charan is seen in two avatars — deftly multi-tasking as both an intelligence agent as well as a pumped-up cop with flexing muscles and a rather interesting hairstyle. While no action sequence was shown in the teaser, it is assured that the megastar will settle for nothing less than a couple of fights in any movie. From the box office hit Magadheera to Thoofan (remake of 1973’s Zanjeer) Charan has always been keen on signing action-packed roles.
This Ram Charan starrer is the official Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster, Jayam Ravi’s Thani Oruvan. Music has been composed by Hiphop Tamizha, who also composed for the Tamil original, and cinematography is by P S Vinod.
Under Surender Reddy’s direction, Dhruva also features actor Rakul Preet Singh, who plays Ram Charan’s ladylove, apart from Arvind Swamy who is also seen playing a crucial role.
While the movie was scheduled for a release in October to compete in the Dusshera Tollywood race, the dates had been pushed further to December.
The actor-producer is also busy bankrolling his father, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film Khaidi No 150. The movie is set to hit the screens for Sankranti next year.
