The censor board on Thursday cleared multilingual movie Devi(L) starring Prabhu Deva, Tamannaah and Sonu Sood for the worldwide theatrical release with a clean ‘U’ certificate. The film’s leading star cast has been aggressively promoting this sleek horror comedy across India ahead of the release on October 7.

The film directed by AL Vijay was simultaneously shot in three languages. It will release as Devi(L) in Tamil, Abhinetri in Telugu and Tutak Tutak Tutiya in Hindi. The film will also mark the debut of Bollywood’s choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan in south Indian film as an actor.

More from the world of Entertainment:

Since it is a horror comedy that revolves around film stars, it also provided an opportunity to Farah Khan to make her acting debut down south. The film’s another highlight will be its dance. Have you seen the making video of Chalmaar song, yet? Actually, it’s been quite a long time since audience saw Prabhu doing some mind-blowing dance moves on the big screen. And the trailer of Devi(L) also gives a sneak peek at the multi-faceted star’s acting skills and his comic timing.

Tamannaah has played a double role in the film. She will be seen as a village girl and a popular film celebrity.

Above all, Devi(L) is an important film for director Vijay, given that he hasn’t tasted a major success at the box office since 2011’s Deiva Thirumagal. Previously, he helmed big budget films like Thaandavam with Vikram in the lead and Thalaivaa starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay. However, they failed to live up to the expectations at the box office. Even his last year’s romantic comedy, Idhu Enna Maayam, fizzled out at the box office.

Meanwhile, the film also stars Amy Jackson, Nassar and RJ Balaji in pivotal roles.
