Oscar-winning music director A R Rahman’s son AR Ameen made his singing debut in Tollywood in upcoming youth romantic movie Nirmala Convent. Crooning the number Kotha Kotha Bhasha in the movie, the 12-year-old has set the stage for his singing career with his tender voice and perfect intonation. Last year, Ameen sang in his father’s composition for Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani.
According to reports, Ameen’s song was closely supervised by dad Rahman. Veteran Tollywood music director Saluri Koteshwarao’s (popularly known as Koti) son Saluri Roshan gave music for Nirmala Convent. Koti recalled how he requested A R Rahman for this song. “My son, after composing the tune, asked me to make A R Rahman’s son Ameen sing the song. I mailed Rahman and he said he will ask his family and get back me in 10 days. He replied and Ameen sang the song,” said Koti with utter joy in the audio launch of the movie.
Under Akkineni Nagarjun’s production, Nirmala Convent is slated for a release on September 16. Not only Ameen, the movie also is a launch pad for popular star’s sons including popular actor Srikanth’s son Roshan Meka playing the lead role and Bollywood music director and singer Shankar Mahadevan’s son Siddarth Mahadevan with another song.
Earlier in February, Nagarjuna had also tweeted sharing the news about Ameen’s debut song. “Proudly introducing, A R RAHMAN’s son, A R AMEEN debut song in Telugu #NIRMALA CONVENT, a fresh pure love story,” the actor posted.
Not only that, the other singers in the movie include Kailash Kher and Akkineni Nagarjuna himself, who sang a song in movie after 17 years.
