Rapper Nicki Minaj has been invited by a high school, after facing rejection from her alma mater. Minaj’s appearance was rejected by LaGuardia High School as the 31-year-old star apparently wanted to bring cameras with her and the principal did not want the visit to be filmed, reported Aceshowbiz.

Now, Hempstead School District has extended the invitation to her as it feels Minaj’s presence will boost the moral of its students.

“Hempstead School District, which has had some recent hardships, feels it would be a boost to their students. I think we have a very good chance. I think she’s a person that’s shown that she didn’t forget where she’s from and I think Hempstead schools are similar to the area that she came from,” said the school in a statement.
