Crime shows have been a success on Sony. Case in point, the Anup Soni-hosted Crime Patrol,a weekend show which recently completed 100 episodes and brought to viewers some really shocking crime cases. Taking a cue,Colors had launched a similar show with Sushant Singh but it never really took off and now Singh and Gaurav Chopra take turns to host Life Ok’s new crime show,Savdhaan India,a weekday show.

The recently launched show is a dramatic recreation of crime events taking place all over our country. At the time of writing, the episodes covered the case of a tribal girl who was paraded naked by a bunch of self righteous boys. Ostracised by the village and despite zero support from her family, the girl still manages to bring the criminals to book and is presently working with an NGO. Her age: 16 years.

Another shocking case was two sister’s cold murder of their parents only because the latter had objected to their wayward teenage romance and were going to marry them off.

The cases are shocking alright and no matter how many crime shows one sees, they still manage to sock you in the face. They are appalling to say the least. However, one has begun to expect a certain style associated with the production of these shows and Savdhaan India lacks in that aspect. While Singh is easy on the eye with his hosting skills (his moustache can be a distraction though),Gaurav Chopra is completely not at ease. The pace is slow and that kills the show.

Verdict: Watch it if you want to see what goes on in our country.
