Thor Ragnarok’s release is only a few days away now and we can’t keep calm. Of course, there are trailers and teasers, but they entice more than they satisfy. For this reason, perhaps, Marvel is releasing several TV spots on YouTube which show already released footage interspersed with new visuals. The latest too shows a bit of never-before-seen footage but we are not complaining. The highlight of the video clearly is Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie who has been receiving high praise from the lucky critics who have seen the movie. Valkyrie was formerly an elite Asgardian soldier of Odin but now works for the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).

In Thor Ragnarok, the goddess of death, Hela, played by Cate Blanchett, attacks Asgard although it is not clear why. Thor’s father and the ruler of Asgard Odin’s whereabouts are unknown, Thor’s hammer Mjolnir is destroyed by Hela and he finds himself facing his friend and fellow Avenger Hulk in a gladiatorial style battle. It is not known who wins but in the trailer Thor claims afterwards that he did. Valkyrie and Loki team up with Thor and Hulk to fight Hela.

The early reviews of the film have been highly positive. Editor-in-chief of Collider.com Steven Weintraub tweeted, “Loved ‘Thor: Ragnarok’. @TaikaWaititi did an awesome job. Movie is loaded with his trademark humor. Laughed beginning to end.”

Slashfilm.com’s editor Peter Sciretta said, “Thor Ragnarok is one of the funniest Marvel Studio movies thus far, definitely the best Thor film. Loved Mark Mothersbaugh’s score.” CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg remarked, “#ThorRagnarok is a ton of fun! Self-contained MCU plot, but character work is awesome, and the adventure a thrill. Best of the Thor movies!”
