Early on Thursday morning, Twitter surprised its users with photos of Hollywood star Tom Cruise trapped inside an overturned bus. Only after a little speculation did they realise that the photo that went viral on social media were only a mock-up from the sets of The Mummy in London.

The next sequel of The Mummy franchise, which will hit the theatres next year will cast Sofia Boutella, Russell Crowe, Annabelle Wallis along with Tom Cruise. Cruise’s character in the film is expected to follow in the footsteps of the archaeologist Rick O’Connell, famously played by Brendan Fraser in the 1999 film.

Sofia Boutella is supposed to play the role of the Mummy while the Gladiator actor, Russell Crowe has reportedly lined up for a cameo to appear as Dr Jekyll, before getting his own solo film. Nothing more has been revealed about the plot of The Mummy, however, from the pictures that went viral on the internet, one can expect at least one scene from the film involving an overturned bus numbered 25 on the streets of London.

Jon Spaihts who has previously wrote the script of films like Prometheus and Doctor Strange is presently working on the script of the film along with JJ Abrams and director Alex Kurtzman. The fourth sequel of The Mummy is scheduled for release on June 9, 2017.

The Mummy is one of the many remakes planned by Universal Pictures as an effort to create an interconnected universe for their classic monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, the Bride of Frankenstein, and vampire hunter Van Helsing.
