Popular British actor Orlando Bloom found himself in the middle of a controversy when he landed at Delhi International airport on Saturday morning at 1.30 am. The actor, who was extended an invitation by the UP government to be their state guest, learnt on arrival that the e-visa he had applied for had been rejected. The actor was promptly deported back to London by an early morning 4 am flight.
Thankfully, Extenal Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj intervened and issued a new visa which allowed the actor to fly back and reach Delhi on Sunday.
On the itinerary of the actor is a visit to the beautiful monument of love, Taj Mahal in Agra. Accompanying him would be politician Amar Singh and filmmaker Sheetal Talwar whose film Romans had starred Orlando Bloom.
Amar Singh is later expected to host a gala dinner for Bloom and the Delhi swish set is expected to be in attendance along with some Bollywood bigwigs.
